An American couple in Louisiana found $50 billion in their bank account.
And the story began, according to “Fox News”, when a bank deposited in the couple’s account the huge amount that exceeds the budgets of countries, by mistake.
Darren James, 47, said that upon arriving home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on June 12, his wife showed him the astronomical number in the calculation on her smartphone.
In a comment to the press, he said, “Where did all this come from? All we could think of was who would knock on our door to get the money back, because we don’t know anyone with that huge amount of money.”
James, who previously served as a Louisiana police officer, stressed that he had never considered keeping the money.
He continued, “We knew it was not ours. We didn’t win it, so we couldn’t do anything with it.”
After the couple contacted the bank, the latter corrected the error, and this took 4 days.
