European Medicines Agency: Two doses of two different vaccines are effective against the “delta” mutant

An official in the European Medicines Agency confirmed that the four vaccines approved by the European Union against “Covid 19”, have proven effective against the “Delta” mutant that first appeared in India.

Amsterdam – Sputnik. “The four vaccines authorized in the EU appear to protect against all strains, including the delta variant,” said Marco Cavalieri, head of strategy for vaccines and biological health threats.
He added, “Data collected from Spain and Germany showed that giving two doses of two different vaccines is a successful process, but it is not possible to make a recommendation to adopt that strategy so far.”

“Sputnik V” protects against the Indian strain

In turn, the Deputy Director of the Russian Gamalya Research Institute, Denis Logunov, had confirmed a few days ago, that the “Sputnik V” vaccine is effective against the Indian strain of the Corona virus, but slightly less than its anti-strain effectiveness, stressing that its effectiveness is proven.

The Deputy Director of the Gambia Institute indicated that the effectiveness of the “Sputnik V” vaccine against the Indian strain is about 2.6 times lower, compared to its effectiveness against the normal strain, and this represents a slight decrease, and that its protection against the Indian strain is still present and effective.

“I want to emphasize once again that the decrease of 2.6 times is a very small decrease, which is the lowest among all other vaccines in the world, whether from (Pfizer) or (Moderna),” Logonov said.
