Some countries, such as China, have been able to make the most of the rivers, some of which have turned into pivotal trade corridors for their internal trade, and advanced technologies that allow the design of “ship elevators”, which can transport huge ships from one waterway to another, more high than it have contributed to this.
Sometimes there are obstacles to transporting trade using ships to some areas, due to the geographical nature that prevents ships from moving between waterways, due to the difference in the height of the water levels in each of them.
But this problem has become solved through a ship elevator, which can move ships of up to 500 tons, from one waterway to another, about 200 meters above it.

China International Television Network published a video clip, which it said is of the “ship elevator” that China recently opened, noting that it is one of the largest ship elevators in the world.
The Chinese ship elevator is located at the “Qupitan” hydroelectric power station, on the Wujiang River, which is one of the largest upper reaches of the Yangtze River, on its southern bank.
