Yesterday, Monday, the Spanish “high seas” cruise “EPSP TORNADO-P44” of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization docked in the port of Algiers, in a three-day stop.
The Algerian Ministry of Defense said, in a statement, that the visit comes within the framework of Algeria’s joint military cooperation with NATO.
She explained that during this stop, the commander of the Spanish High Seas Tour, accompanied by the Spanish and Italian defense attaches, paid a courtesy visit to the commander of the central Algerian waterfront in the first military area.
The Algerian ministry indicated that this circumvention stop “aims at strengthening bilateral military cooperation relations between our navies and NATO.”
This comes at a time when relations between Spain and Morocco are witnessing great tension in the recent period.
