Zakharova comments on the statements of the German ambassador in Kiev regarding the war

The spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the statements of the German ambassador in Kiev, Anka Wildgosen, in which she spoke of “a general fear of war with Russia.”
Today, Sunday, Zakharova said that the German ambassador’s statements “reflect the difference in visions,” noting that “Russia bases its national internal and foreign policy, not on fear of war with another party, but on peace and its preservation.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman added, “NATO members are dishonest,” noting that at first they used such ambassadors and foreign ministers, to make Ukraine lose its sovereignty completely and almost collapse, and now remember that there are some legal restrictions.

This comes in response to statements by the German ambassador in Kiev, in which she said that there are fears of an armed clash with Russia in a number of countries, including Poland, Ukraine, and the Baltic states.

The ambassador also pointed out that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization has legal problems regarding the possibility of joining the countries in which wars are taking place, adding that this is what is included in Article V of the Washington Treaty (the Treaty establishing NATO). She also stressed that everyone is afraid to enter into a direct war with Russia.
