Including reducing fertility… 7 dangers of using plastic water bottles more than

Using plastic water bottles more than once can lead to serious illnesses, including reduced fertility.

A report published by Express warns that reusing these bottles may seriously harm health.

He added that the talk is about the plastic water bottles that millions of people use every day around the world.
Most of the plastic bottles we use every day are made of polycarbonate, said Sherrill Lithgoy, a researcher at Pennden Health, a UK-based non-profit organisation.

She noted that polycarbonate plastic has been manufactured since the 1950s using an industrial chemical called bisphenol-A (BPA).

Some studies have warned that BPA can leach into foods and drinks, Lithgoy said.

She explained that the health risks posed by this industrial chemical increase with the heating of the contents of the bottles.

She warned that this can affect cell repair, hair growth, energy levels and fertility.

The Mayo Clinic (an American medical and research group), has warned that this chemical may also affect children’s behavior.

“Additional research suggests a possible link between BPA, increased blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease,” Lithgoy said.

She added that the risks could be reduced by choosing a different type of reusable bottle.

She advised the use of a stainless steel water bottle while on the move, and stressed the importance of drinking hot drinks in cups made of pottery, glass or stainless steel.

And the Mayo Clinic warns against placing plastic containers in the microwave or dishwasher, because the heat may leak the chemical into foods.
