“Beta”, “Delta” and “Alpha” strains of corona reach the “gateway” of the Arabian Gulf

Gulf medical sources confirmed the arrival of the “beta”, “delta” and “alpha” strains of the emerging corona virus, to the Arab Gulf tourist “gateway”, the United Arab Emirates.

During the media briefing held by the UAE government on the developments in the spread of the new Corona virus, Dr. Farida Al Hosani, the official spokeswoman for the health sector in the Emirates, provided several information related to the health situation inside the Emirates at the present time.
Al-Hosani confirmed in her testimony that the anti-Coronavirus vaccines have proven to be effective in reducing infection rates, “not preventing them completely.”

Al Hosani indicated that the vaccine was provided to more than 71% of the total population of the UAE, which represents 91.8% of the eligible category.

Al Hosani indicated in her briefing, which was reported by the Emirati “Al Bayan” website, that 16% of those infected with the new Corona virus from the two restaurants were, while those who were not vaccinated amounted to 84%.

The spokeswoman noted that the percentage of infected vaccinated people who were admitted to the hospital did not exceed 11%, while the percentage of those who were not vaccinated was 89% who were admitted to hospitals.

Patients admitted to intensive care rooms “the highest percentage of non-vaccinated patients was 92%, while the percentage of vaccinated patients was 8%.”
Deaths increased due to the arrival of mutants

The spokeswoman noted the increase in deaths in the UAE during the past week due to the spread of viral mutants, in addition to the failure to adhere to preventive measures and fear of vaccines.
In her briefing, the spokeswoman revealed that the most prevalent strains of corona in the UAE currently are (Alpha), (Beta) and (Delta), most of them are for people who are not catering, as their percentage reached 94%, while the percentage of those who have been vaccinated was 6%.

The beta strain is the most common

Al Hosani said, “They are mutated strains that have been monitored in many countries of the world, which calls us all to unite and unify efforts and expedite vaccinations.”

Regarding the most prevalent strains, the spokeswoman said: “The most common strain is the beta strain with 39.2%, followed by the delta with 33.9%, and finally the alpha strain with 11.3%.”
