Will Smith has revealed the title of his upcoming memoir, Will, in a video clip shared on Saturday morning.
The 52-year-old actor opted to use a Pixar-inspired face filter while promoting his upcoming book and showed off the forthcoming publication’s visually striking cover art to his 54 million followers.
The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air star has been working on the project with the help of author Mark Manson ever since 2018 when he initially announced that the book was on its way.
During the video, Smith pointed out that he and his collaborator had been hard at work on the upcoming publication for a while and that they were excited to release it to the public.
‘It’s been a labor of love, I’ve been working on it for the past two years and it is finally ready,’ he said.
The book will follow the actor’s life, from his beginnings as a child in Philadelphia to landing his first few major roles to achieving stardom and dealing with the tribulations of his new lifestyle.
Shortly after the project was initially announced, it was noted in a press release that was shared on the official Penguin Books website that Will would emphasize the Ali star’s move towards self-reflection over time.
Specifically, the project will tell an ‘inspirational tale of how his true self-knowledge helped to propel him to extraordinary success, and then evolve further to a place of deeper peace – with himself, his loved ones, and the world.’
It was also noted that the book would showcase Smith’s natural progression and that his story would be told in a chronological fashion.
‘The idea is to communicate visually the evolution of a person, from childhood through adulthood, and at major stages of their life in between,’ it read.
Shortly after the press release was made available to the public, Smith shared a video to his Instagram where he told his fans that he had plenty of content to share with them.
The Pursuit of Happyness star stated: ‘I got years and years of stuff I want to say and I’m going to write a book for y’all.’
After having a brief conversation with Manson, the Academy Award-nominated performer humorously quipped that, although several publishers were interested in his project, he already had a set candidate in mind.
He said, ‘I feel confident that we’re going to go with…the highest bidder. I’m just saying.’
Smith also discussed his writing partner’s prowess in the comments section, where he noted that no punches would be pulled in his upcoming publication.
‘@MarkMansonNet is the TRUTH! He’s gonna get a book outta me. I’m SOOO Ready! I’m ’bout to tell y’all ALL MY BUSINESS. :-)’
Will is currently available for preorder, and it is set to be made available to the public on November 9th.
