Iranian presidential candidate Abdel Nasser Hemmati confirmed that he will make all efforts to lift sanctions on his country and normalize relations with the P5+1 countries if he wins the upcoming presidential elections.
Hemty said in an exclusive interview with the Russian “Sputnik” agency, today, Tuesday: “If I gain the confidence of the people and win the elections, I will make all efforts to lift sanctions and normalize relations with the countries of the (5+1) group,” noting that “a good part is a good part.” One of the Iranian economic problems is caused by sanctions and the weakness of Iranian political and economic relations with some countries.
Hemmati added, “There will be a very important issue in the event of my victory, which is the continuation of the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran in establishing sustainable security in the region,” stressing at the same time that his view of the West “will never depart from the framework of Iranian national interests and benefit from the existing energies to improve political relations.” and developing economic relations.
The former head of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdel Nasser Hemmati, stated that his country can secure part of its technical and weapons needs from Russia at cheaper rates than other countries.
“Russia can be a good market for Iranian products, and we can also secure part of our technical needs and weapons from Russia at cheaper prices than other countries,” he said.
He continued, “The development of relations between Moscow and Tehran will continue during the era of the next government, and Russia can play an important role in Iran’s realization of its international goals,” adding, “Developing economic relations with the East, with Russia and China pivoting, will be one of the strategic goals of my government if I win the presidency.”
He added: “I will pledge to maximize the interests of the Iranian people by developing relations with Russia and other countries and trading partners of Iran.”
He explained, “Our vision for Russia should not be limited to the framework of developing political and regional relations, but also to increase trade and economic relations so that all relations are at one level.”
