The Israeli police agreed to organize a right-wing “flags march” in the city of Jerusalem, despite repeated warnings of the danger of this step in the current circumstances.
Today, Friday, the police and organizers of the “business march” reached an agreement on the course of the march, which is scheduled to be organized next Tuesday, and will include Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem.
The “March of Flags” will start from Hanvi’im Street towards Sultan Suleiman Street, leading to Bab al-Amoud Square, where participants will perform dance sessions.
Then the march will head to Tashal Square through Bab Al-Khalil towards the Al-Buraq Wall.
The decision to allow the march comes despite Palestinian anger and warnings by many Israeli politicians, including Defense Minister Benny Gantz, that organizing this march is not an appropriate step given the current security conditions.
This decision coincides with the outbreak of new protests and confrontations between the occupation forces and the Palestinians in the West Bank today.
The official of ambulance and emergency in the Palestinian Red Crescent in Nablus, Ahmed Jibril, confirmed in an interview with “Ma’an” that six Palestinians were wounded by live bullets, including one who was seriously wounded in the chest, and dozens of others suffered from suffocation, during clashes that broke out after Friday prayers between hundreds of citizens. The official Palestinian Wafa news agency reported that the clashes there erupted as a result of the Israeli forces’ suppression of an anti-settlement march.
RT’s correspondent in the West Bank also confirmed that confrontations also raged at the western entrance to Silwad town.
