Bloody confrontations erupted in the Maltepe area in the heart of the Turkish city of Istanbul, in which Kalashnikovs were used, and two people were injured, according to the Turkish newspaper, “Zaman”.
The newspaper said that armed clashes took place between two groups yesterday evening, Sunday, and resulted in the injury of two people, one of whom was seriously injured. As a result, one person was hit in the leg and another person who was sitting in the driver’s seat was hit in the head, then the attacking group fled.
After the clashes, the police closed the street to cars and pedestrians and collected empty ammunition for Kalashnikovs.
The security forces arrested a person in connection with these clashes, while investigations into the incident are continuing.
