The Israeli army admits the death of an intelligence officer in a military prison

The Israeli army admitted that a military intelligence officer died in his prison under mysterious circumstances last month.

The Israeli army allowed the media to publish reports confirming that the convicted soldier, whose death was announced in the new Neve Tzedek military prison near Tel Aviv last month, was an officer in an army intelligence unit.

According to published reports, in September last year, a military court issued a ruling against this officer and decided to imprison him according to an agreement concluded between him and the judiciary.

The officer was found in a critical condition in his cell on the night of May 16-17, and was taken to hospital, where he died, according to reports.

And Hebrew media quoted military officials as saying that there were suspicions that the death of the imprisoned officer was due to suicide, but without announcing the cause of his death officially.

The military observer in the Israeli army prevented journalists from publishing the details of the case in which the officer was convicted and further circumstances of his death.
