Windows devices 6 years in prison and a fine of 3,600 euros for a woman who used a pirated copy of Windows

Microsoft has entered a new phase in its war against pirated copies of its software and operating systems, as the company sued a woman in Spain for using pirated copies of Windows and Office programs.

The website “gizchina” said that the court sentenced the woman to 6 years in prison and a fine of 3,600 euros, as she had two pirated Windows and Office programs seized

The crime was first discovered in 2017, and so far there is no information about how the authorities knew about this illegal practice, since then, the accused twice filed an appeal against the court’s ruling, until a final ruling was issued against her.

This is the first time such a ruling has been issued in the country, which opens the door for charges in similar cases in the future.

It is reported that the media had revealed that the American company “Microsoft” decided to postpone its latest efforts in the field of operating systems called Windows 10x in favor of improving Windows 10 instead.

Wired reported that the American computer company has been trying for more than 10 years to create a lighter version of Windows for years without success.

Microsoft was originally planning to offer the new version of the “Windows” more simple and light, along with the new dual-screen devices.

Designed as a competitor to Chrome OS, Windows 10X includes a streamlined interface, an updated Start menu, multitasking improvements, and a dedicated app container for performance and security.

Microsoft’s overall goal with Windows 10X was to create an abstract, simplified, modern version of Windows
