Doctors march to the headquarters of the World Health Organization in Geneva to demand the fight against climate change

Doctors concerned with combating the effects of environmental degradation on public health organized a march to the headquarters of the World Health Organization in Geneva, calling on health authorities to make climate change and environmental diversity a top priority.
Activists dressed in white walked in front of the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, to the headquarters of the World Health Organization, where they were received by Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the Organization, and Maria Neira, Director of the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Health at the Organization.

“The epidemic will end, but there is no vaccine for climate change,” Tedros said while receiving activists outside the organization’s building. “We must act now and unite to prevent and prepare before it is too late.”

And Professor Valerie Dacromo, an expert in infectious diseases, called on the organization to be “the driving force and guarantor of public policies that respect everyone’s health and preserve their lives.”
