A French company lights up the Eiffel Tower with electricity produced from renewable hydrogen

The Eiffel Tower will be lit on Tuesday evening by electricity produced from certified renewable hydrogen.

The Saint-Malo-based energy watchdog wants to make Paris’ most popular tourist attraction a showcase of its carbon-free technology.

“The aim is to rally all the French people … public opinion, as well as companies and local authorities, on the hydrogen sector,” said Louis Noel Vivier, CEO of the company.

French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire and the Minister for Environmental Transport are planning to attend the lighting event for the tower.
