Russia unveils its amphibious armored vehicle at an exhibition in Africa

At the Shield Africa 2021 arms show, which opens on June 8 in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, the Russian Military Industry Corporation unveils its amphibious armored “Strela”.

This was stated by a company spokesman in an interview with the Russian “TASS” agency, noting that the armored vehicle was for the first time outside Russia.
He said that the company will also display in Côte d’Ivoire models of the “VBK-Ural” multi-role armored vehicle, the “Tigger” special patrol vehicle, as well as the “Strela” amphibious armored vehicle.

The Director General of the Russian Military Industry Corporation, Alexander Krasovitsky, said that his company is making more efforts to market its products in Africa after the decline in business last year due to the outbreak of the Corona virus epidemic in the world.

It is reported that Shield Africa 2021 will be held on June 8-10 in Abidjan.

It is worth noting that the “Strela” amphibious light armored vehicle was manufactured on the initiative of the Military Industry Corporation. The armored vehicle may be used to perform various tasks and can be equipped with various weapons and devices.

It has a top speed of 155 km / h and weighs 4.7 tons.

The armored body guarantees ballistic protection of the second class. The armored vehicle withstands a mine explosion of two kilograms of tartotel.
