The official spokesman for the Palestinian “Al-Qassam Brigades”, Abu Ubaida, confirmed that “the resistance fought the battle of (the sword of al-Quds) in defense of Jerusalem with all honor, will and pride, on behalf of an entire nation.”
He said, “With the help of God, we were able to humiliate the enemy and their army, whose leadership boasted of killing children and destroying residential towers.”
He added, “We say clearly that we have prepared a strike that covers all of Palestine from Haifa to Ramon, but we have responded to the cease-fire to observe the enemy’s behavior until 2 o’clock on Friday dawn.”
He continued: “The occupation leadership faces a real test and the decision to strike the missile on the table until 2 am.”
In an earlier statement, the Israeli government confirmed the decision to declare a truce with the Gaza Strip after 11 days of bombing.
The government said, “It has not yet set a date for the truce to take effect, knowing that the Hebrew media reported that the ceasefire will start from 2:00 am on Friday, according to the understandings with the Egyptians.”
The Israeli authorities indicated that “Egypt proposed the Gaza armistice, and that it would be reciprocal and unconditional.”
