Israeli Intelligence Minister Eli Cohen said that the head of the political bureau of “Hamas”, Ismail Haniyeh, and the head of the political bureau of the movement in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, are on the Israeli “list of targets.”
In an interview with the Israeli website Ynet, Cohen said, “While I am with you in a studio in the center of the country and when I go to Sderot without fear, the prime minister and the defense minister are everywhere and the leaders are in the foreground, while all the Hamas members are in hiding.”
Cohen spoke of “the cease-fire pressures that were pushed back,” stressing that “our commitment to the people of the south remains,” revealing that “intelligence information has been sent to the United States about the fall of the evacuation tower in Gaza.”
He also called on the Palestinians in the West Bank to “not be dragged behind Hamas” on the day of rage, noting that “we had intelligence warnings about a barrage of bombardment on Jerusalem and we assessed the situation with all the security forces.”
