Al-Qassam Brigades announced the “launch of the Ayyash 250 missile, with a range greater than 250 km, and with the largest destructive force, at Ramon Airport, in southern Palestine, about 220 km from Gaza.”
Abu Ubaida, a spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement, said, “By order of the chief of staff of Al-Qassam Staff Abu Khaled Muhammad Al-Deif, the Ayyash 250 is now being launched towards Ramon Airport in southern Palestine and about 220 km from Gaza. With a range greater than 250 km and a destructive force that is the largest, a victory for Al-Aqsa and part of our response to the assassination of our heroic leaders and engineers, with part of their achievements and development. ”
He added, “We enter the Ayyash 250 missile for service and tell the enemy,” Here are your airports, and every point from north of Palestine to its south is within range of our missiles, and here is the next deterrent weapon flying in the sky of Palestine towards every target we define and decide. ”
Al-Qassam Brigades also announced the targeting of Tel Aviv, Beersheba, Netivot, the Tel Nof base and the Nevatim base with rocket-propelled grenades.
In turn, an Israeli official told Reuters that “Ramon airport was not hit by any missile,” stressing that the airport was operating normally.
The “Qassam” targeting of Ramon Airport came after the Israeli Ben Gurion Airport authorities announced, today, Thursday, that all flights heading to this airport in Tel Aviv have been diverted to Ramon Airport in southern Israel, until further notice, due to rocket fire from the Gaza Strip.
