On Monday evening, massive demonstrations in support of Jerusalem erupted in several cities inside the so-called Green Line.
The demonstrations, in which thousands of Palestinians participated, protested against the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, and against the Israeli forces ’assault on worshipers and sit-ins in Sheikh Jarrah and Bab al-Amud in the occupied city.
And the same as Nazareth, Shafa Amr, Jaffa, Umm al-Fahm, Ain Mahal, Tamra, Baqa al-Gharbiyya, Majd al-Krum, Araba, Shaqib al-Salam in the Negev in the south of the country, Az-Zazir, Ramleh, Kfar Kanna, Jaljuliya, Kufr Manda, Jadida-al-Makr, and Kafr Qara. The city of Lod, which is about 38 km from Jerusalem, witnessed bloody events and violent confrontations with the Israeli forces that turned the city’s streets into a fierce battlefield.
In the midst of the events, an Israeli settler took advantage of the confrontations and killed a Palestinian youth in the city of Lod, inside the Green Line, with bullets and wounding others.
Bloggers reported that the young man who was killed in the attack was named Musa Hassouna.
The city also witnessed a process of lowering the Israeli flag, and raising the flag of Palestine on a lighting pole in the city, and a video clip documented fire at a police station in the city as well.
Palestinian media reported that at least 16 demonstrators were arrested in Lod and Ramleh.
