After the groom was infected with Corona, two Indians celebrate their wedding in a hospital

An Indian couple decided to hold their wedding ceremony inside the isolation hospital, after it was confirmed that the groom was infected with the new Corona virus.

Social media users circulated pictures of the couple wearing protective gear, and exchanged wreaths of the tulsi plant, or what is known as the holy basil, which is placed on the neck of the bride and groom.

After the ceremony ended, the bride returned to her uncle’s house, and the groom remained in the hospital to complete his treatment.

According to the local India website, the events of the story began with the return of the 28-year-old groom to his country from one of the Gulf states in which he works, until he prepares to marry his 20-year-old fiancée, as he underwent a 10-day home isolation period.

During this period, his condition worsened, along with his mother, and they became short of breath and were taken to hospital, after they were found infected with the new strain of the virus.

After that, the couple decided not to postpone the wedding that had been arranged for more than a year, and they obtained permission from the hospital and Alappuzha Medical University, in Kerala, where the groom and his mother live.

According to the procedures, only two of the newlyweds’ family were allowed to attend the wedding party next to them, and the wedding ceremonies were held by traditional methods.

India is currently witnessing a sharp worsening of the Corona pandemic, after the spread of a new strain of the virus across the country, and the high numbers of deaths and infected people.
