Prince William breaks silence after reunion with brother Prince Harry at Prince Philip’s funeral

Prince William has broken his silence after he was reunited with his brother Prince Harry after Prince Philip’s funeral on Saturday 17 April.

The Duke of Cambridge, 38, posted a tweet on his joint page with wife Kate Middleton, Kensington Royal, to share his “concerns” over a new football league two days he laid his grandfather the Duke of Edinburgh to rest.

Prince William, who is also President of the Football Association, blasted the European Super League and the damage it would cause to the football community in the impassioned tweet.

The Aston Villa fan shared: “Now, more than ever, we must protect the entire football community – from the top level to the grassroots – and the values of competition and fairness at its core.

“I share the concerns of fans about the proposed Super League and the damage it risks causing to the game we love. W”.

Prince William’s tweet comes after he was publicly reunited with Prince Harry for the first time in more than a year.

The brothers were reported to have been embroiled in a rift since 2017 when William, who is said to have asked Peter Philips to walk between himself and Harry at Philip’s funeral, voiced concerns the Duke of Sussex’s relationship with Meghan Markle was moving too fast.

Royal sources claimed that Harry took this as a criticism of his relationship and interpreted it as his brother not being behind his marriage.

In October 2019, Harry appeared to confirm the rumours of tension with his brother, as he admitted: “Part of this role and part of this job, and this family, being under the pressure that it’s under, inevitably, you know, stuff happens. But look, we’re brothers, we’ll always be brothers.

“And we’re certainly on different paths at the moment, but I’ll always be there for him, as I know he’ll always be there for me.”

Tensions are said to have grown when Harry, who reportedly may delay his return to the US to stay for the Queen’s birthday, and wife Meghan announced their decision to step away from their roles as senior members of the Royal Family.

The brothers were reported to be speaking again earlier this year as they both worked on the plans for the unveiling of their late mother’s statue But the Oprah Winfrey interview was said to have left William livid and set any chance of a reconciliation back “10 steps”.

Rumours of a feud and the explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey meant the world was watching the siblings as they walked behind the Duke of Edinburgh’s Land Rover hearse as they bid their grandfather a final farewell on Saturday 17 April.

And, a body language expert told OK! online the pair showed their unbreakable bond as they attended the event together.

Body language expert Derek Heron told OK! exclusively: “It’s fantastic to see Harry walking between Kate and William.

“That’s a huge acceptance. They are still close. There is still a massive brotherly bond there.”

“Kate stepping aside allowing them to walk together has lots of good signs,” Derek continued.
