A woman holds her second child while not having delivered the first

A British woman recorded a unique medical condition, after she conceived a second child while not having conceived her first child yet.

Three months after her first pregnancy, the 39-year-old, Rebecca Roberts, was surprised that she had another baby.

At the time when the parents contacted the doctors for a scanning session of their fetus, they were surprised by the emergence of a new fetus, a girl to be twins of her unborn brother.

This condition is known as “multiple pregnancy” and it is very rare, so that one study showed that there are only 10 cases registered in the world.

The doctors noted that the fetus is developing normally with a delay of the first birth by three weeks, according to what CNN reported.

At first, Rebecca and her husband were concerned that the baby she had named Rosalie was growing in the womb, fearing that being late for her older brother would affect her health at birth.

After a cesarean delivery in September 2020, the two babies came to life and had to spend time in two separate neonatal intensive care units.
