To avoid poisoning … Maximum time to store meat in the refrigerator and freezer

Many people are accustomed to storing meat and freezing it in the “freezer”, but some do not pay attention to the period of storage, which may result in spoilage of that meat when left in storage for more than the permissible period.

And the “Glad” website offered the maximum period for storing different types of meat in the refrigerator or freezer, as this period varies according to each type.
Fresh red meat

The maximum period for storing fresh beef, veal, or lamb in the refrigerator is 3-5 days, and these types can also remain in good condition in the freezer for a maximum of 4-12 months.
Hamburgers and processed and ground meats

Ground meat does not last for a long time in the refrigerator or freezer like other meats, in the refrigerator, ground meat such as hamburger lasts for between one to two days, and in the freezer, ground meat will keep for 3-4 months.
Fresh poultry

Chicken and turkey, whether whole or shredded, last for one to two days in the refrigerator, storing a whole chicken or turkey in the freezer can last for one year, and chicken or turkey in the freezer can last for 9 months.
Stewed meat

If you have leftovers that include cooked meat or poultry, they will last in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, and in the freezer for 2-6 months.

In a related context, Russian nutrition expert Christina Goraflyova said that it is better not to store salads in the refrigerator for a long time because vegetables lose vitamins quickly.

The expert explained to the channel “Zvezda” of the Russian Ministry of Defense: “The authorities should be seasoned with olive oil and not sunflower oil, as the latter is harmful to the body, and it contains the second acids available in our body, and when cooking it is better to use olive oil and coconut oil.”

She noted that the only thing that can be stored in the refrigerator for a long time and without harm to health is meat and gravy. The amino acids they contain retain their beneficial and nutritional properties even when frozen.
