He had third-degree burns … the reason was a plant

A man in the Scottish city of Glasgow suffered a third-degree burn in the leg area after accidentally coming into contact with a poisonous herb.

According to the British newspaper “The Mirror”, on 30 March, Paul McGeach decided to go on a hunting trip. He put on shorts and while crossing the bridge, he accidentally came into contact with “pigweed”, which is considered one of the most dangerous plants in the United Kingdom.

According to the newspaper, McGeach felt, the next morning, irritation and severe pain in his leg, only to discover the presence of third-degree burns, and he called the doctors.

For their part, the doctors warned the 40-year-old patient that “pigweed” burns could take several months to heal, and they prescribed antibiotics.

In turn, McGeach commented on the incident: “I work as a chef, so I usually stand on my feet all day, which I can not stand now. I hope that the burns heal as soon as possible.”

It should be noted that “pigweed” is a perennial plant that belongs to the tentacle family. It is considered one of the most dangerous plants. These herbs are divided into 70 species, of which 40 are grown in Russia.
