The French Foreign Ministry announced the recall of the Chinese ambassador to Paris, Lu Shai.
The ministry stated that the summoning of the Chinese ambassador came against the background of threats to French MPs and a researcher.
Luo described the French researcher Antoine Bundaz, a member of the Foundation for Strategic Research, as a “little fraud”, through the Chinese embassy account on “Twitter” on Friday, March 19.
The French newspaper “Le Monde” reported that Bundes is one of the leading French researchers specializing in the affairs of China and the Asian continent, and he responded to the insult by saying, “I am honored to be described as a small fraud by the Chinese embassy, revealing its transmission of disinformation and the strategies of influence it exercises in France.”
“Insulting researchers instead of discussing them is a sign of weakness,” added Bundaz.
