Inauguration of the giant water distribution center in Sevastopol

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the completion of the construction of a unique hydraulic engineering complex to provide clean water to the residents of Sevastopol in the Russian Crimean Peninsula.

The complex includes a storage pond with a capacity of 150,000 cubic meters, an accumulation pond, a dam, a hose to deliver water to the Dnieper water canal, three pumping stations, in addition to a water supply complex and waste disposal facilities, including equipment for cleaning rinsing water and domestic wastewater with accumulated underground tanks.

Thanks to this complex, Sevastopol will be supplied with about 65 thousand cubic meters of water every day.

Crimean citizens have been suffering from water supply problems in the peninsula since 2014 after the Ukrainian authorities cut off the water supply through the North Crimean Canal, which connects the course of the Dnieper River to the peninsula and provides up to 90% of the water supply.
