The National Weather Service in the United States expected a strong spring snowstorm during the next three days on the Rocky Mountains and the Central Great Plains.
Meteorologists warned of stormy weather, power cuts and avalanches.
The authority issued snowstorm warnings in areas of Wyoming and western Nebraska, where snow accumulation of up to 61 centimeters and high winds of up to 105 kilometers could lead to dangerous conditions from Saturday to Monday.
The Meteorological Authority warned travelers on the roads to carry emergency supplies and light bulbs.
The authority also warned that high winds and heavy snow could cause serious damage to trees and power lines.
