50 countries in the world register the Russian “Sputnik V” vaccine against Corona

The Russian Fund for Direct Investments announced that the number of countries that have adopted the “Sputnik V” vaccine against the emerging corona virus has reached 50 today.

In a statement, the Direct Investment Fund confirmed that the Republic of Namibia, located in southwestern Africa, has become the 50th country to adopt the Russian vaccine, noting that the registration of “Sputnik V” in it came with the procedures for emergency use licensing (EUA).

The Director General of the Direct Investment Fund, Kerem Dmitriev, stated that the fund is uniting its efforts with partners throughout the year and offers one of the best vaccines in terms of effectiveness, safety and cost.

He continued, “We see strong demand and do everything we can to protect more countries whose residents are Sputnik V.”

Sputnik V is currently the second most popular vaccine against the coronavirus in the world, in terms of the number of countries that agree to its use.

And the total population in the countries that have adopted “Sputnik V” (which is the first vaccine against the Corona virus developed in the world) so far exceeds 1.3 billion people.

The effectiveness of the Russian vaccine, which is vaccinated in two doses, reaches 91.6%, according to the results of clinical tests confirmed by the “Lancet” medical journal in early February, with 100% protection from the risk of serious cases of infection.

The Russian vaccine should be stored at temperatures between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius above zero, which allows it to be stored in a regular refrigerator.
