This comes in an attempt to force the government to conduct an investigation into the number of deaths due to the Corona virus in the United Kingdom, where the group “Campaign for Families of Deceased Due to Coronavirus for Justice in the United Kingdom” wants to force the government to conduct a legal public investigation led by a judge, about how it is dealing With the epidemic, according to the newspaper.
The group indicated that it wanted to prevent a recurrence of the high number of deaths due to the Corona pandemic in the country, and said on its website: “Family members and the country deserve answers.”
She considered that “the actions of the United Kingdom government led to the highest death toll in Europe due to this virus,” noting that it was “not related to statistics.”
She added: “Each of the tens of thousands of deaths from the Corona virus recorded in the United Kingdom represents a living person breathing, who died prematurely … We cannot let this happen.”
The group pointed out that “it is difficult not to believe that the government prefers to save its reputation than to save lives,” stressing the need for “the investigation to be independent of ministers, so that the government cannot determine its homework.”
The Daily Mail indicated that the group’s attorneys, Betty Wetherby QC and Elkan Albrhamson, will write to the ministers this month to inform them that a judicial review of the Supreme Court will take place in this regard.
The two attorneys said that countless Britons have died needlessly due to government failures, arguing that an “investigation” should be carried out as a human rights issue, the Times newspaper reported.
It should be noted that the number of deaths in Britain due to the Corona virus reached about 124,419, which is the worst in Europe, and the fifth highest death rate in the world, after the United States, Brazil, Mexico and India.
