A man was fatally attacked while walking in the morning after an ambush by 7 ferocious Pitbulls in Lagido Vieux, a rural area in southern Brazil.
Aglacier de Macedo Pereira, 46, was enjoying his regular daily morning walks when the wild dogs escaped from a farm under the gate and attacked him.
Brave bystanders rescued him from the gruesome attack, called an ambulance, and then helped him on the road to meet the emergency vehicle.
Pereira was transferred to Santa Cruz Hospital in central Pinhao, more than 20 miles away.
“He was like a son. I have raised him since he was two years old,” Pereira’s aunt told local media. “We ask people who have these animals to take care of them. We do not want others to go through a sad situation like the one we are going through,” she added.
The victim’s family accused the dog owner of failing to properly preserve the animals, while he has not yet been identified, and the police have opened an investigation into the matter.
Last week, a blindfolded woman collapsed after two American dogs attacked her while she was going shopping. Fortunately, her dog survived, but has been shaken since the ordeal.
