Poll: Biden support exceeds 60%

Americans support President Joe Biden at 61%, according to a new Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll poll for the US newspaper The Hill.
According to the poll, Biden’s initial approval numbers are significantly higher than those of former President Donald Trump when he first took office, which stood at 48% in February 2017.

While only about 39% of the respondents said that they do not approve of the job Biden is doing in the White House.

The poll showed that there was a relatively wide partisan divide in early perceptions of the Biden presidency, with the vast majority of Democrats agreeing to his job performance, while most Republicans refused.

Even so, nearly a third of Republican voters, 31%, said they approve of Biden’s handling of his job.

For nearly four years, Trump’s approval rating has been steady in the range of “about 40 to roughly 50”. Yet it fell to 34% in a January Morning Consult and Politico poll, the lowest in four years of Trump’s rule since the Capitol riots.
