Bill Gates: It may take 2022 to return to normal life

Microsoft founder Bill Gates warned that “the return to normal life may take 2022 as long as we do not do a better job.”

In an interview with CNN, Gates described the rapid development of anti-corona vaccines as a “miracle” that would help Americans return to a “semi-normal” lifestyle early in the fall, warning that “lawmakers are not doing enough globally to make them come back.” Life will return to normal before the end of next year 2022.

With the reopening of schools and a certain level of occupancy in restaurants and sporting events, Gates said, by the fall we could see some semblance of normalcy for Americans.

He considered that “the biggest problem is that we are not doing enough to end the epidemic worldwide,” noting that vaccines so far “only go to rich countries,” which leaves the risk of new mutations spreading abroad and reaching the United States.

He added: “These risks, which are exacerbated by the potential wave of the spread of infection again, mean that a full return to normalcy may take 2022 completely unless we do a better job.”
