International clinical trials of the Russian “Sputnik Lite” vaccine launched

The Mayor of Moscow, Sergey Sobyanin, said that international clinical trials of the Russian “Sputnik Lite” vaccine against the Coronavirus will be launched in Moscow today, Thursday.

Sobyanin wrote on his website: “Today we start international clinical trials for the vaccine“ Sputnik Light. ”The new drug, which was invented at the“ Gamalia ”Institute in Moscow, aims to eliminate the main deficiency of the“ Sputnik V ”vaccine, which is that there are two stages of the vaccine that are given to people with a difference of several weeks “.

He added that vaccinating people with the “Sputnik Light” vaccine will require only one visit to the hospital, indicating that the emergence of immunity against Corona begins one week after vaccination and reaches a peak after 4 weeks.

He explained that the Russian part of the clinical trials will be conducted in Moscow in 10 hospitals, and every 18-year-old citizen can participate in them, if he was not previously vaccinated with the “Sputnik V” vaccine.

The “Sputnik Light” vaccine has successfully passed the first stages of clinical trials. Sobyanin confirmed that the new vaccine contains the same special structures as the “Sputnik V” vaccine, and it does not include the Corona virus itself, which means that the vaccine cannot provoke a person’s infection with the disease.
