Princess Eugenie gave birth to her first child with husband Jack Brooksbank at the start of February.
The Royal Family shared a statement which read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie was safely delivered of a son today, 9th February 2021, at 0855hrs at The Portland Hospital. Jack Brooksbank was present.
“The baby weighs 8lbs 1oz.”
Royal fans are still eagerly awaiting the announcement of the little boy’s name, but what has been reported is that the little one will not have a title nor an official royal role.
According to Mail Online, Eugenie, 30, has decided to focus on motherhood and her career rather than carrying out royal duties, and reportedly wants the same for her child.
Eugenie’s grandmother, the Queen, could bestow a title on her ninth great-grandchild if desired, but will reportedly not be asked to do so.
A source told Mail Online: “Eugenie is adamant that she wants to keep her child out of the limelight as much as possible.
“Yes, she will still work with charities that are close to her heart, like the Scoliosis Association, but she won’t be taking over patronages left over by Harry and Meghan, and she won’t be standing in for them at public events.”
What we do know for sure is that Eugenie and Jack will be raising the little one at Frogmore Cottage, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle no longer living in the property while in the USA.
The stunning home sits in front of a beautiful lake and Frogmore House, which is where Harry and Meghan hosted their wedding reception in 2018.
Inside, Frogmore Cottage is reported to have five bedrooms, a kitchen, living room and nursery.
Although we have not been privy to photographs of the interior of the cottage we can make a pretty good guess as to what it would look like inside. This is because the cottage was decorated by Vicky Charles, the interior designer and mastermind behind luxury members club Soho Farmhouse.
Harry and Meghan renovated the property to the cost of £2.4 million of taxpayer money.
Although this caused them to come under fire from critics a spokesman for the family stated that the building was “earmarked for renovation” and that the couple paid for all “fixtures and fittings” themselves.
However, speaking in 2016 after the opening of Soho Farmhouse, Vicky discussed how designing a hotel is different to a personal space, saying: “Private homes are incredibly different.
“The clients come to us because they want the Soho House aesthetic but you have to make it right for that family or whoever lives there in their space, so it’s not a cookie cutter thing you can just drop in.
“Someone’s home is so much more personal. There’s the obvious stuff of not worrying about mini bars, but there’s also a different level of comfort – it’s fascinating.”
We also know that they use the Soho Home’s Country House collection because at the beginning of last year Meghan’s friend Daniel Martin uploaded an image to Instagram of the table set up the Duchess used at Frogmore Cottage when hosting him.
The cottage could also boast a range of artwork, with Harry and Meghan championing art.
During their courtship, Harry is believed to have gifted Meghan a canvas reading ‘Everybody Needs Somebody to Love’ by British artist Van Donna and it’s thought the Queen also gave them a series of paintings from her collection.
