White House: Biden does not intend to hold bilateral meetings before April

Washington – (AFP):

US President Joe Biden has been intensifying his phone calls since taking office, but he has no intention of meeting his counterparts in person before mid-April at the earliest.

“It will be two months before the president invites a foreign leader to hold a meeting at the White House,” said Jane Sackey, a spokeswoman for the US Presidency, Tuesday.

“You can meet via video, as you know,” Sacchi added, referring to the restrictions imposed by the “Covid-19” pandemic.

The Canadian prime minister’s team indicated, after a phone call at the end of January between Joe Biden and Justin Trudeau, to hold a “meeting” in the following month, which raised questions about its nature.
