Because of her insulting to the employees … the dismissal of the director of the UNESCO office in Morocco

Moroccan media sources confirmed the dismissal of the Director of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Morocco from her post, and that the dismissal is related to Golda El-Khoury’s dealings with the Moroccan team in the office.

The sources stated that, last July, 4 Moroccan employees filed an internal complaint against Al-Khoury, accusing her of creating a “hostile” work environment, describing some of them with terms such as “failures” and “uneducated.”

Another reason, she added, was that the Rabat office compared it to a “zoo”, which led to the solidarity of international employees with their Moroccan colleagues.

She pointed out that the official who is expected to succeed the Lebanese Golda El-Khoury at the head of the UNESCO office in Rabat is Austrian Alexander Schilich, who joined the organization in 1993 and was responsible for programs related to music, arts, cultural industries and human rights before he ran the private sector for youth and sports in the organization Same since 2012.
