US President Joe Biden announced Thursday that his government has signed contracts to buy an additional 200 million doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines against Covid-19 to bolster its large-scale vaccination campaign. Biden said during a visit to the National Institutes of Health near Washington, “This afternoon we signed final contracts to buy 100 million doses of the Moderna vaccine and 100 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine.”
