Katy Perry says having a baby is “the best decision” she’s ever made.
The 36-year-old singer and her fiancé Orlando Bloom welcomed a daughter named Daisy Dove into the world in August, and Katy has now said she couldn’t be happier with life as a new mother, especially thanks to the support she has from her “incredible” husband-to-be.
She said: “It’s the best decision I’ve ever made in my entire life. I have family and support, and I’ve got an incredible fiancé who has done this before – he has a 10-year-old son.”
Orlando is also father to 10-year-old son Flynn, whom he has with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr, and Katy revealed the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star tried to relay his experience as a first-time parent to her in the hopes of offering her some tips.
And whilst Katy was initially upset at the thought of Orlando already experiencing parenthood without her, she eventually realised his advice was helpful.
She added: “As much as I was a little bit like, ‘I don’t need to hear all those stories,’ they actually helped. They’re like, ‘Oh, you’ve had a run at this. You know how to do this.'”
Ultimately, Katy thinks Orlando has been an “amazing” father to both Daisy and Flynn, and the couple are “so in love”.
Speaking during an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, she gushed: “He’s been amazing, incredible, and we’re so in love and we’re so grateful.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Never Worn White’ singer previously admitted motherhood has made her “value” every moment a whole lot more.
She said: “I see my daughter change so much in the past five months and looking back at photos it’s like, ‘Whoa.’ You see time in human form and it’s like …
“Now she’s got chunky cheeks. In a way, it’s really encouraged me to be even more present and to value every day. And all we have is this moment. That’s what’s promised is this moment and nothing else … She’ll always be the No. 1 most important thing ever, naturally. But I love being a working mom. I don’t think there’s anything negative about it. It’s like, ‘Wow, you can do that and that?’ All right! That’s a woman, you know?”
