The Crown’s Emma Corrin joins new Harry Styles romance movie

The Crown’s Emma Corrin will star alongside Harry Styles in an upcoming LGBTQ+ romance drama from Amazon Studios.

Corrin, who just this week bagged a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Princess Diana, has signed up for My Policeman, an adaptation of Bethan Roberts’ novel of the same name (via the Daily Mail).

The actress takes the role originally tipped for Lily James.

Produced by The CW stalwart Greg Berlanti, along with Robbie Rogers and Sarah Schechter, My Policeman will see Emma and Harry Styles as the leads Tom and Marion.

Taking inspiration from Bethan Roberts’ novel set in 1950s Brighton, the drama will pick up in the late ’90s, when the arrival of an elderly man into Tom and Marion’s home triggers the exploration of “seismic events from 40 years previous”.

Tom and Marion’s guest is revealed as Patrick, Tom’s former lover from a time when homosexuality was illegal.

It looks as though Corrin is in for a real treat starring alongside Styles, whose Don’t Worry Darling co-star Chris Pine recently praised as “an absolute delight”.

“He’s one of the most professional people I’ve ever met,” Pine said of the former One Direction singer. “Couldn’t be kinder, more gracious, I mean, really, I was stunned by this kid. He’s off-the-charts cool.
