A spokesman for the party of the Burmese leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, who was brought down on Monday by a military coup, said that she is “under house arrest” in the capital, Naypyidaw, and is “in good health.”
“She is under house arrest and in good health in her home,” said Kii To, a spokesman for the National League for Democracy, after she was convicted of violating a commercial law, while other officials from the party were also arrested.
