Swedish film festival with one nurse on a small island

A Swedish nurse won a competition to watch one-on-one 60 films featured in the full program of “Gothenburg” Film Festival on an isolated island in Sweden.

Young Swedish woman Lena Inroth surpassed 12,000 film-loving participants all over the world.

The nurse, who worked in a special department for Covid-19 patients during the epidemic, said that she was hoping for “a week in which you enjoy an atmosphere different from the reality that you live in hospitals.”

The conditions of the epidemic prevented films participating in the festival from being shown in cinemas, and instead broadcasting them directly through a website.

The festival organizers said that they were looking for an authentic cinema lover who would be emotionally and psychologically qualified for the task.

Lisa Enrott, who says the epidemic has drained her energy, will have to spend a week alone at the Butter Noster lighthouse on the remote island of Hamanskar, Sweden.

The competition stipulates that the winner must not take a mobile phone, computer, books, or other entertainment with him.

“The wind, the sea, the idea of being part of a reality completely different from the one I have been living through in the shadow of an epidemic for a week. It’s all really attractive,” says Inroth.

According to the terms of the competition, the winner was transported Saturday morning by boat to the island, and she will record her condition daily in a video.

Festival organizers said they deemed it right to give this unique opportunity to one of the heroes working in the health care sector in a time of pandemic.
