“Artgrel” is the hero of a joint historical series between Algeria and Turkey

The Algerian embassy in Turkey revealed official discussions held between the Algerian ambassador in Ankara and the General Director of Turkey Radio and Television Corporation, regarding the production of a joint historical series.

According to a statement published by the Algerian embassy on January 28, Algeria’s ambassador to Turkey, Mourad Ajabi, paid a courtesy visit to the General Director of Turkey Radio and Television (TRT) Ibrahim Irene, which witnessed discussions on “ways to develop cooperation between the two public television institutions in the two countries as well as an exchange Experience and work together to produce documentary programs that reflect the common cultural and historical heritage between the two countries, including cooperation in producing an important historical series that deals with the personality and exploits of the Barbaros brothers, which Turkish television will start producing this year.

The Algerian newspaper “Al-Shorouk” reported that the Turkish ambassador to Algeria, Mahienur Koktas, revealed last Thursday that filming parts in Algeria of the series “Barbaros”, starring Engin Altan Dosiatan, who played the role of “Artgrel”, is based on contacts that have begun.

The newspaper also indicated that the ambassador spoke about the series in the context of talking about preparing a joint film between Algeria and Turkey about the history of the two countries.

It is worth noting that the Barbaros series is a historical Turkish series that tells the story of the sailor Aruj Barbaros and his naval jihad during the reign of Sultan Selim I, and the hero of the series is Engin Altan Dusiatan, and it will be shown on the Turkish TRT channel, and it is produced by ES Film.
