Daily Express Melania Trump to be ‘more powerful’ in marriage to Donald as ‘tide is turning’

Bruce Durham, a body language expert, believes the First couple will stay together with Mrs Trump taking a more dominant role in the relationship. Divorce rumours surged after Mr Trump lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden, with former aides claiming Mrs Trump was “counting every minute” until she could split from the former President.

Mr Durham was shown recent footage of the Trumps by the Daily Mirror, and suggested Mrs Trump.

He said: “Is she ready to leave as the stage show is coming to an end and she feels that she does not need to play that character anymore?

“Well from a baseline body language analyses perspective, the tide is turning, something is shifting, and it would not be a surprise that if she didn’t leave him, she takes on a more powerful and formidable role in the relationship moving forward.

“And good on her I say!”

It comes after the former First couple left Washington ahead of Mr Biden’s inauguration, with the Trumps now living and working out of the family’s Mar-a-Lago resort.

But Mrs Trump is said to be looking for a separate space in Palm Beach, Florida, which Louisa Whitney, from LKW Family Mediation, claimed “could well be preparatory steps for explaining to Donald that she’d like to separate”.

The mediator said: “She might also want to be setting up an identity for herself in her own right.

“It can be hard I think for anyone separating to establish themselves as just that person rather than part of a couple – especially if their partner was more high-profile, more outgoing or better-known than them.”

Mr Durham also analysed a clip of the couple dancing at the Inauguration Freedom Ball in 2017.

He said the then-President “looks uncomfortable” in the clip, and added: “Now, we all have a relative who ‘dances like a grandad’ way before his time (I put myself in that bracket) but Donald is truly uncomfortable in this situation.

“In psychology we talk about Individualised Zone of Optimum Function – when you are in ‘the zone’ or have hit your sweet spot of performance.

“In this dance, we see a glimpse into the fundamental lack of emotional connectivity surrounding Donald. Yes, he is great with numbers but as often with people like this, they can often struggle with the human connection.”

In contrast, Mrs Trump is “trying to guide Donald into having a simple dance”, according to Mr Durham.

He added: “What makes this quite humorous, akin to Fawlty Towers, is that Donald is sublimely unaware that he looks uncomfortable or that he is out of his depth.”
