Data published by “Kaiser Health News” revealed that African Americans are receiving coronavirus vaccines at significantly lower rates than white Americans.
About 7 weeks after the start of the vaccination process in the United States, the United States set up a circle of vaccinated persons to include more people, not just health care workers, and began vaccinating the elderly and in other cases essential workers such as teachers.
But new data shows that vaccination rates for black Americans have fallen short of vaccination rates for white Americans.
After 23 US states published the demographics of the population who were vaccinated, the data showed that the white population is being vaccinated at higher rates than the black population, often twice the rate or even higher.
In Florida, for example, 5.5 percent of the white population received the first dose of the vaccine, compared to 2.0 percent of the black population.
