Today, Wednesday, Palestinian Minister of Culture Atef Abu Seif opened a street named after the late Syrian director Hatem Ali in Tulkarm, in the presence of the city’s governor, Issam Abu Bakr.
Abu Seif said that naming this street “Hatem Ali” came in honor of the late artist and to commemorate his fragrant memory and gratitude from the Palestinian people for the great works of art made by this artist who accompanied the Palestinian cause.
He added that this step “is a gesture that Palestine does not forget those who stand by and support its just cause, and it is a message to Arab artists to work for their first Arab cause, the cause of Palestine.”
He continued, “The late Hatem Ali believed that the issue was the issue of all Arabs and fought to convey the voice of Palestinian truth and expose the crimes that were committed against our people during the Nakba,” stressing that “Hatem Ali was a model for the committed Arab artist, and his early departure was a great tragedy for all art lovers.” As for supporters of the cause. ”
Ali passed away on December 29, and he was an actor, writer and director, born in 1962. He began his life with theatrical writing and writing dramatic texts and short stories, and graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus in 1986.
