15 people were killed after being run over by a truck while they were sleeping in India

At least 15 people died in western India, after being run over by a truck in their sleep on the side of the road Monday night, Indian authorities announced, Tuesday.

A security source in Surat district, Gujarat state, stated that “among the victims was a girl, 8 women and 6 men, in addition to 6 other people were injured, and the accident occurred after the truck collided with a tractor at a traffic intersection.”

The source pointed out that the truck driver “lost control of the vehicle, and upon leaving the lane, he ran over workers who were sleeping on the side of the road.”
