The death of the rare white tigress “Neve”

Barely two weeks after her birth, the very rare little white tigress, “Nievi”, died in the Nicaragua National Zoo, as the treatment she received after she contracted the flu and had respiratory problems did not save her.

The “Neveh” was born on December 29 last, but she was slightly ill, according to Agence France-Presse.

The director of the zoo, veterinarian Eduardo Sacasa, said in a video clip on social networks, in a tone in which he was clearly affected: “My friends, with great sadness I would like to inform you of the death of the little white tigress Nive (meaning snow).”

Sacasa reminded that Nivee was already “a little sick” at birth, pointing out that she was suffering from a mild cold that was resistant to antibiotics, and her health improved slightly.

He added, “But her condition worsened again, so she was injected with the vaccine and put on a ventilator, but without that leading to her rescue.”

The social networks have widely reported the birth of “NIVEA”, which is the first in a Central American zoo for this very rare species.
