Dubai – (Reuters):
A leader in the Yemeni “Houthi” group said, on Monday, that the movement aligned with Iran reserves the right to respond to any US move to include it on the terrorism blacklist, after President Donald Trump’s administration announced its intention to designate it a foreign terrorist organization.
Muhammad Ali Al-Houthi said in a tweet on Twitter: “The Trump administration’s policy is terrorist and its actions are terrorist … We reserve the right to respond to any classification emanating from the Trump administration and any administration.”
Al-Houthi’s statements came in response to a statement by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, in which he declared his intention to inform Congress of the intention to designate the Yemeni Houthi group as a foreign terrorist organization.
