Losing contact with an Indonesian plane after taking off from Jakarta

A low-cost Indonesian Airlines plane crashed, Monday morning, off the coast of Indonesia, after taking off from the capital Jakarta, amid expectations that 189 people on board were killed.

The Indonesian rescue services suggested that all the passengers and crew of the plane were killed, as medics found human remains hours earlier, due to the plane’s wreckage, so all passengers are likely to be killed.

And 150 rescuers were at the scene, searching for potential survivors and the wreckage of the plane at a depth of thirty to forty meters, and 6 bags containing human remains were transferred to a hospital run by the police.

Rescuers also found pieces of debris, including part of the tail of the plane, bearing the airline’s logo, clothing and identity documents, but they had not yet found the black box, the official said.

It is reported that the plane was a “Boeing 737 MAX 8”, and it was put into service several months ago, and it was heading to the city of Pangkal Penang off the coast of Sumatra, but requested to return to Jakarta airport, before all contact with the control tower was cut off.
